We have been running since the beginning of the 90s, although not every year, but so far we have been in Bodenmais 25 times and thus at Franzl Back then, as now, there were many restaurants in the village, but Franzl has by far the most delicious food and, above all, always lovely, friendly and honest staff. So from the point of view of my wife and I, alas, our entire family and friends who also stopped there, give 5 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Hygiene regulations are handled very casually. Table was not disinfected. Some left, others sat down immediately. One of the waitresses wears a mask under her nose. Registration at the entrance is not controlled. Very long wait, but food was ok

We haven't seen such unfriendly staff for a long time or ate so badly! Because no staff had time, we sat around the beer garden at an uncovered table, then, after about a quarter of an hour, the waiter finally came and was very loud and angry with us because we had sat there without asking! He had to pay a penalty of 1000 € because he had not disinfected! Okay, understandable, but not in that tone !!!! By the way, the menu (simple Din4 sheet, he gave us from the person sitting next to us) We should now take a different seat (plastic chairs). I said no, because my mother is actually in a wheelchair and is better off on a bench! After he had finally cleared the table on four occasions, he took the drink order, there was no card! At some point he actually took up the food order, around 6:30 p.m.! Wait wait wait .... At 19:15 the first sausage salad came! Since it was getting very cold outside, we could switch inside on request. It was extremely difficult there with a wheelchair, and the staff watched us climb the stairs. Then finally shortly after half past eight the rest of the order came ... almost cold! The meat on the grill plate was totally dry, it almost looked like it was leftover pieces! Only the fries, they were still lukewarm, but edible! The schnitzel was tasty and the grilled knuckle ... well, let's leave that! So for us there is definitely no second time !!!

14 € for a HALF pork knuckle, which wasn't really tasty, is a bit steep. Dumplings and sauerkraut were delicious, as were beer, but unfortunately that doesn't make up for the quality and taste of the knuckle. Service was nice.

Highly recommended, especially the half chicken but also all other dishes. Price performance is right. Nice beer garden.

When we got to the bar, the gentleman standing alone in front of us was more or less ignored. He was sent to a corner and we as 6 people got a table! Customer-friendly is different. At some point he left, I think I didn't see him anymore 🤨. We waited 25 minutes for the card, sat there as ordered and not picked up. When the waiter came to take the food, we had neither drinks nor a menu 🤣. Difficult to order as a vegetarian. When asked if the bread dumplings with chanterelles is really vegetarian, he laughed and said: It's probably cream sauce with mushrooms and it's made with meat ... I didn't want noodles. Wouldn't have eaten anything then. He actually asked in the kitchen and yes, it was vegetarian after all. Have ordered across the map. Served hot together after 40 minutes. My meal was a lot of sauce: a few mushrooms and vegetables in cream sauce and 2 golf ball-sized POTATO DUMPLINGS ... In the menu it was actually bread dumplings ... 😔. (Soup plate full of sauce and the 2 mini dumplings for 13.90 ... There is something wrong with the composition ... Didn't want mushroom soup with topping ...) Son gives schnitzel 3 stars ... The people at the next table left a woman empty-handed. Was re-served when everyone was ready ... All in all, way too expensive, my husband says I would cook better, for way too long overall. Conclusion: we ate worse, but also much better, was not the burner in taste. The toilet was clean so far.

After half an hour the drinks were recorded once, after ordering the food the feedback came much later, the knuckle is out, the alternative came long after my wife had already eaten. Overall quality ok but doesn't knock me off my feet, especially not for the miserable service. Nothing worked there, even at the neighboring tables, the parents had already eaten, the child was forgotten. Overall, not worthy of another visit

Franzl apparently has to make up for his turnover from quarter 2 because more guests are allowed in than the service can handle. The dishes are served randomly, so not per table. So one has finished his main course, and the other is still waiting. Really really bad.

Very nice atmosphere. The prices are perfectly reasonable for the size and taste. In terms of taste, it was very good for us. The waiters were always friendly and very quick in terms of service.

It could have been good, but just ordering it was difficult. There is only the drinks menu online. But as an O2 customer there was no mobile network and the service (we found them unfriendly and not very professional) did not bring a card. So we just pulled around the corner and the card and after 20 minutes the order was taken. Nothing is on the menu for vegetarians. After 10 minutes the drinks came (unfortunately special juices were not available) and after another 10 minutes the food came. Knuckle dry and heavily salted. Wrong dressing salad. The service was not seen to take more drinks.

Condition brings wrong ice, waiting time too long overall, drinks are brought without glass and you wait forever for the glass. Food is okay. We understand service to be something else.

We went in early February and loved it. The service was polite, the waiting times short, the portions large and very tasty. The roast pork was amazing. I can only recommend it to all visitors outside of the preliminary stage of Paradies (Bavaria).

Place very nice! But the kitchen really left a lot to be desired. Hard as a bone. I can't imagine it in Bavaria like that. Very negative in relation to the price. Optically it looked good!

Fast and friendly service, the food was tasty although not outstanding. The prices were slightly high.

Good service. Food was ok. Schweinhaxe litle bit disppointing since it was only a half one whike it was also a bit dry. Nice selection of beer including some local.
